The Industrialisation Fund for Developing Countries (IFU) was founded by law in 1967. The objective of IFU is to promote economic activity in developing countries in collaboration with Danish trade and industry. We work to achieve our objective by providing funding for investments in such countries in collaboration with Danish business partners.
Up until the end of 2010 IFU had invested in over 700 projects in 85 countries. Total investments in these projects exceed DKK 95bn, of which the IFU’s contributions amount to DKK 8.2bn.
The aim of any investment made by IFU is to create economic growth and social advancement for people living in some of the poorest countries in the world.
IFU is not subject to the Danish Open Files Act, with the exception of information regarding outdoor environment as set out in the Environmental Information Act, which came into force in July 1994.
