Leidos has won a five-and-a-half year, $49.5 million contract to help the Army Corps of Engineers carry out investigations of hazardous toxic radioactive waste at sites. The corps received one other bid for the contract awarded as part of its Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program to remove low-level radiological and chemically-contaminated materials. Work under this contract will take place in the St. Louis metropolitan region

FUSRAP initiative supports efforts to identify, investigate and clean up or control sites in the U.S. contaminated as a result of the country`s early nuclear weapons and energy programs. The corps took over the program in 1997 from the Energy Department and the program currently includes 25 active sites in 10 states. Leidos will perform the work in the St. Louis region through Feb. 28, 2023.
