Ultralife Wins $4.7 Million Follow-On Contract For Military Radio Equipment

Ultralife Corp. a Wayne County–based maker of batteries and communications systems, announced it has been awarded a $4.7 million contract to supply its Vehicle Installed Power Enhanced Rifleman Appliqué (VIPER) to Thales Defense & Security, Inc., which manufactures high-tech radio equipment for the U.S. Army.
This contract follows previous VIPER awards received and shipped in 2015 and 2016 totaling $10.5 million. Shipments on this follow-on contract are expected to start this year and be completed in the first half of 2018.
Headquartered in Newark, Ultralife’s business segments include battery and energy products and communications systems. Ultralife also has facilities in Virginia, the United Kingdom, India, and China. Ultralife generated net income of nearly $2.8 million and revenue of almost $42 million in the first half of this year.
